Mic Splitters

If you’re considering building a mic splitting system, you’ve already got a lot of money invested in your system, and an equal amount of effort in your sound. Don’t short change yourself now. Make sure you get a splitter transformer equal to the task.

Mic splitting, or bridging transformers are used when one microphone is connected to 2 mixers, such as one for the house sound and a second for the monitors. The splitter transformer is placed between the mic and the second mixer. This allows a direct connection to the main mixer to supply phantom power, and keeps the mixers from interacting with each other. In the case of 3 mixers - house, monitors and record/broadcast - a transformer with 2 outputs is used.

Crimson mic splitters are specifically engineered for this application. They are precision wound with internal copper foil shields to eliminate any capacitive noise coupling between the inputs and outputs. They contain premium, high nickel core material for the lowest possible distortion and highest wave form fidelity. And they are housed in our attractive, custom mu - metal enclosure. Not only does this effectively shield them from both RFI and EMI, but they are road - ready. Our transformer have a 2 hole mounting flange which is part of the can, not the lid, for a vibration proof assembly. And the generous 2 foot leads make connections a snap.
